Mark Anthony Madridejos
Technology Strategist, Innovation Manager, Tech Support Advocate
Mr. Madridejos’ journey began in the Philippines, where he was immersed in Filipino
culture, traditions, and values. Family has always been central to his upbringing, with a
strong emphasis on respect for elders and nurturing familial connections. After completing
his education, he decided to return to the U.S. to explore new career opportunities and
reconnect with his American identity, blending both cultures as he moved forward in life.
His decision to move to the United States was driven by a desire to embrace new
challenges and explore the personal and professional growth opportunities the country
offers. As a U.S. citizen raised abroad, Mr. Madridejos saw it as a chance to balance his
Filipino roots with the diverse opportunities available in the U.S.
Upon arriving in the U.S., he began his career as an IT Generalist, where he built a strong
foundation in various IT disciplines. Over time, his expertise led him to a managerial role,
and today he serves as an IT Manager, overseeing IT operations, leading teams, and
implementing strategies to improve organizational efficiency.
A pivotal moment in his career was earning his degree in Computer Engineering, following
in his mother’s footsteps. Her passion for technology inspired him, especially in computer
hardware, which became his focus in the early stages of his career. Transitioning into
leadership as an IT Manager was a significant milestone, as was moving from a Filipino
company to an American one, which expanded his professional perspective and helped
him adapt to new work cultures.
Like many journeys, Mr. Madridejos faced challenges. Adapting to a new cultural and
professional environment was difficult at first. Despite his technical skills, he had to adjust
to different work dynamics and communication styles. He overcame this by building strong
relationships with colleagues and remaining open to feedback. Balancing his Filipino
values of respect, hard work, and collaboration with the demands of a fast-paced
workplace also posed challenges, but these core principles helped him stay grounded.
When asked about his proudest achievement, Mr. Madridejos speaks of two key
milestones: living independently in the U.S. and bringing his family over from the
Philippines, as well as advancing to the role of IT Manager, which marks his growth from a
technical role to a leadership position.
His Filipino heritage has been integral to his success, shaping his approach to challenges
and relationships. Filipino values like respect for others and the importance of family have
guided his career decisions, especially in his work with Filipino companies in the U.S.,
where he’s been able to blend these values with diverse professional environments.
Community has always played an important role in Mr. Madridejos’ life. He is an active
member of the “SoCal Pinoy” group on Facebook, connecting with fellow Filipinos in
Southern California to stay in touch with his roots. He is also involved with the IFBTA
(International Food and Beverage Technology Association), a community that brings
together food and beverage professionals to advance their businesses. These communities
have provided support, networking opportunities, and valuable insights throughout his
career.
Looking back, Mr. Madridejos advises young Filipino American professionals to stay true to
their cultural values—respect, hard work, and family—while embracing new opportunities.
He encourages them to take risks, build strong relationships, and remain adaptable in the
face of change. Above all, he emphasizes the importance of perseverance, as their unique
background and perspective can set them apart in any field.
Although he doesn’t currently have his own business, Mr. Madridejos is passionate about
exploring future opportunities in technology and community engagement. He hopes to
empower others through mentorship and community-focused initiatives.
